Live recordings
I decided to make a new thread, on the FTP server me and my brother (niels-j) just uploaded some live recordings. However, we have more to come but
the server is already full .
ftp://difon.wave.prohosting.com
Anyhow, ENJOY EVERYONE

Folks you can make a torrent and upload it on:
http://www.thetradersden.org/
it's very simple and conveniently!
use azureus programm
Thus you can upload lossless files shn or flac or ape!!!

Shn, Ape, Or Flac
Files of low compression, so a quality of lossless files are much better than Mp3!

Yeah well they may be better, but also a lot bigger
Plus it doesn't matter much since live recordings often arent of good quality. That flac ripping is good if you got a REALLY good soundcard +
surround system and want to work with songs instead of just listening to them.
mp3 192kbs or more are usually enough.

Yes i prefer lossless quality i know it's a lot bigger, but i think it cost that, if you have ever seen spectrum analysis of mp 3, then you know how
much you lose! I don't want to say that everyone should share files in lossless format but i am happy when i've got a choice.
I will be happy to get Brussels live broadcast and others recordings from ftp in lossless format. I agree for copy of master! give me a chance!
Thanks!

Yeah but the quality depends on the source of recording. If you rip a CD it's actually worth thinking about making it lossless. But some bootleg
concert recording will always sound a bit bad, so it doesnt matter if its FLAC or 128kbit mp3.

Well it does, because you just deteriorate the quality even more so. A live recording can still have spatial data and accuracy that doesn't
completely flatten the life out of it in a 192kbps > MP3. The filesize saving is pretty negligible tbh. Few have dialup and storage is cheap these
days. Anyone unhappy with the size could always resample the file, but those that want a good quality file can't upsample
I have £250 earphones, anything less than a 320kbps MP3 sounds pretty bad to be honest and while I appreciate I'm in the minority, the difference is
there and can be heard with anyone with even half decent speakers. Why compromise for a meg or so of filesize?

I got a good 5.1 system too but show me some1 who encodes concert recordings in a lossless format :d
It's not of sense to upsample 128kbs mp3s to flac, thats what i wanted to say in the end.

Ahh right.
Yeah upsamling is as effective as a chocolate fireguard, it won't replace the lost information

Brilliant FTP site, just got some of the Early demos from there. Is there any chance of getting some of the other Demo's that markjames posted a
while back as I missed them first time round, such as Bombin' The L and Grave and the constant.

You got some serious skills, mark. I really like your stuff on myspace, too.
And for the ftp: I'd say we could start deleting all the 'old' stuff now, should have been enough time for everyone to download the songs.

Ok, I'll just upload the other stuff and delete the ''old stuff'' but if anyone is interested in the ''old stuff'' just let me know!
